The Studio at Home: Botanical DIY Kits

1. Make sure you are in a location that can get messy. 
2. Take all the items out of your kit.
3. Jars have pH-neutral bookbinding glue.
4. Have a cup or jar of water to keep your paintbrush between use and to clean it for reuse.
5. Open your frame. Pay attention to where you will glue your flowers. You will glue your flowers on the inside of the glass frame, the same side that the chain hangs. Envision closing your flowers inside the frame for proper placement.
6. Use the tweezers to help handle your flowers. You can also use pieces of your leaves or flowers by trimming them. 
7. Stage your flowers. Lay them out as you envision BEFORE gluing. Snap a picture to remind yourself if necessary. 
8. Glue your flowers. Less is more. Use a small amount of glue in the center of our flower to secure it to the canvas. If your design has flowers that overlap, be sure to glue the flowers down in the correct order: bottom layers first and then the top. Repeat until your design is complete. Let dry.
9. Clean the dust, particles, and excess glue off your glass and close up your piece. 
10. You can glue the sliding lock on your hanging piece if it keeps coming loose. 

Tip: You don't have to use all the flowers, AND you can trim your flowers and greenery to look like you desire. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

3. Jars labeled "G" are glue, and "M" is Mod Podge.
4. Have a cup or jar of water to keep your paintbrush between use.
5. Open your canvas and paint it your base color. I recommend doing this in two thin coats to keep the paint even and without lines. Let dry completely.
6. Open your accent paint and paint your desired designs. You can add trim, leaves, swirls, dots, or anything else you imagine. Let it dry completely. 
7. Stage your flowers. Lay them out as you envision BEFORE gluing. Snap a picture to remind yourself if necessary. 
8. Glue your flowers. Less is more. Use a small amount of glue in the center of our flower to secure it to the canvas. Repeat until your design is complete. Let dry.
9. Use the Mod Podge to seal your design. Carefully paint over all your flowers and canvas. The flowers can be delicate, so be gentle. Let dry completely, and enjoy!
