The Memorial Flower Preservation Process: How It Works

Memorial flowers come at a difficult and unexpected moment. While families are grieving and making arrangements, we aim to keep things as simple as possible. Once your flowers arrive, we begin preserving them right away. This allows you time to reflect and choose the artwork that feels right for you and your family, knowing this is not something you planned for.

WHAT TO PLAN FOR NOW:

To start the preservation process, we press all memorial flowers for a flat fee of $150.

This fee includes:

• Pressing for up to two bouquets or two medium wreaths.
• Complete pressing and drying of your flowers.
• Safe storage of your flowers until you select your frames.

Please let us know at the very beginning of the process if you want any dimensional pieces, as that determines the preservation necessary. 

ARRIVAL & INTAKE: 

Once you reach out, we will help you arrange drop-off or shipping. Please wait for our confirmation before sending or delivering your flowers. When they arrive, we photograph them immediately and check their condition. Because memorial flowers are often delicate, we handle them with extra care to keep them as beautiful as possible.

PRESERVATION & DESIGN:

Your flowers undergo several steps in the preservation process. These include pressing, air-drying (if you choose dimensional pieces), carefully rebuilding any blooms that need to be taken apart during pressing, and color correction (if you select that option). Then we carefully plan and design the layout of your memorial artwork. 

CHOOSING FRAMES:

While your flowers are being pressed and dried, we will ask you to consider which frames or bundles you and your family might like. Once the flowers are fully dried, we will contact you so you can choose your frame, bundle, or have the pressed flowers returned. We are here to help you find frames that fit your style and vision, and we design your layout based on the frame you select.

INDIVIDUAL FRAMES:

• 11×14 Pressed Flower Frame: $245
• 8×10 Pressed Flower Frame: $175
• 5×7 Pressed Flower Frame: $95
• 8×10 or 8x8 Custom Walnut Shadowbox: $295

These frames have flowers mounted on archival matte board backing in color (s) of your choice that coordinate with your preserved flowers. Please note that these are starting prices, and the final cost may vary depending on your frame choice, custom options, add-ons, or upgrades. 

PAYMENT PROCESS: 

• $150 pressing fee is due at drop-off or shipping, along with your signed contract.
• Half of your framing total is due before we begin creating your artwork.
• The remaining balance is due before shipping or at pickup.
• Shipping and tax will be added when applicable.
• Studio pickup is always free of charge.

IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO FRAME:

You can have your memorial flowers pressed for the $150 fee and sent back to you. The flowers will be returned just as they come out of the press. Some flowers require being disassembled to press correctly and are pressed petal by petal. 

The flowers from the press will not be color corrected or reassembled, and all pressed flowers and leaves from your order will be included. This is a good option for families who want the flowers preserved but plan to store or display them themselves.

TIMELINE:

Memorial work is always unexpected, and we do our best to handle these orders with care and flexibility.

• Wedding turnaround time: 4 to 6 months
• Memorial turnaround is usually 4 to 7 months, depending on our volume and the season.
• During peak wedding season, memorial timelines may take a bit longer.
